ULPE KG-SAS:
Woodcarvings from Val Gardena

Val Gardena is a valley in Northern Italy, nestled amidst the majestic Dolomites in a region called Trentino Alto Adige.

In this breathtaking landscape, declared as a natural heritage site by the UNESCO,  the local creativity became a prosperous industry based on the production of wooden religious art, which crossed Italy’s border and became world-renowned.

In the year 1972, UL (rich) PE (rathoner) founded the family-brand Ulpe, which is the pride of the many families of the valley employed by the firm.

Ulrich is a traditionally trained wood-sculptor who descends from independent artisans, born and raised in the valley.

His son Daniel refined these time-honored skills in the most influential art-institute in Europe.

Nowadays, Daniel and his wife Elisa lead the company.

The woodcarvings label aims at preserving these crafts by empowering local communities and providing economic opportunities.

Ulpe's vision is to keep building a brand that innovates ancient craftsmanship techniques and religious symbols while partnering with local artisans, who master techniques that have been passed down from one generation to the next to create unique handcrafted products with a story to tell.

Shop with a growing catalog of 500+ beautifully designed and heritage products.

Shaping creativity with a solid foundation!
